The Hemphill Mansion in Historic Old Town Roseville is breathing new life. Caudle Enterprises, composed of Robert Jr. and Dori Caudle and his parents, Robert and Margaret Caudle Sr. have turned the elegant home into a gathering place for weddings, banquets and corporate functions. It is called "The Victorian at Hemphill Mansion", The Victorian style home, at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Grove St., built in 1909 for Wallace Hemphill, served as a showplace and social center for Roseville society. Hemphill's Roseville Water Co. provided Roseville its water and electricity from 1906 to 1925. He also owned the local sand and gravel business when Roseville was going through it's first boom. Dr. James McAnally purchased the mansion in 1936 and used it as his residence until 1969. At one time the property served as a stage coach depot and later as Roseville's bus terminal. The Caudles took ownership on July 1, 1999 and continued the mansions social history. They have since remodeled the mansion and are enjoying hosting events on a regular basis. "People book The Victorian because of the beautiful property, by dinner all they notice is the great food" Says Robert Jr. 'The best part is our staff, they all love to come to work and are always surprising the guests with that little something extra." Robert has been owner/operator of River City D.J. (One of Northern California's largest companies.) for 11+ years. Robert Sr, and Margaret are the food connoisseurs. So when they put on an event, their talents have proven to be "the perfect marriage!" Article comprised from The Sacramento Business Journal, The Roseville Tribune & Mobile Beat Magazine |
